Maintenance
You are responsible for airworthiness. Now you can see it.
Under Part-ML the owner carries the responsibility, CAMO or not. ChockOps gives you the live due list, the defects, the deferrals and the CRSs, in the same view your maintenance crew works in. Not instead of your CAMO. Beside them.

The due list
LiveEvery maintenance item carries up to three limits: hours, calendar days and landings, whichever comes first. On top of that:
- Warning thresholds and tolerance windows
- Due basis: actual or scheduled
- Which counter it draws on: TTAF, engine hours or prop hours
- One-off items: AD compliance, a one-time re-inspection
- An “unknown” state when there is no baseline yet, so a missing fact is visible instead of hidden
Status is ok, warning or overdue. A daily scan recalculates everything and notifies on every status change. The dashboard shows due bars. The techlog PDF header shows “Next inspection TTAF / NOT LATER THAN”.
Maintenance events
LiveWhen work is done, record the event: date, TTAF, who did it, the CRS reference, the linked document. The item’s last-done values update. The next due moves.
Defects and deferrals
LiveA squawk is a defect. Report it from the flight or on its own, with photos. Lifecycle: open → deferred → closed (or straight to closed).
- Deferral records the Part-ML ML.A.403 reference, the reason, and a limit by date and/or TTAF.
- Closing records a CRS reference and, optionally, the CRS document.
- Pilots acknowledge deferred defects when they open a flight. The acknowledgement is stored.
- An expired deferral raises an alert to everyone who should know.
Roles: any pilot can report. Only the maintenance role or the admin can defer or close.

An AI-proposed maintenance programme
In betaGive ChockOps the aircraft’s own paperwork: work reports, the ARC, the equipment list, the AFM, old CRSs. The AI proposes a maintenance programme: one line per item, each with its source document and a high/medium/low confidence. Items load as “proposed”. The owner and the CAMO review and confirm them, line by line.
Why in beta: the generator runs for this one type today. The in-app generator for any aircraft type is on the roadmap.
Expiries
LiveCertificates in the document store carry an expiry where they have one: the ARC, insurance, the radio licence. You are warned 30 and 7 days before. The AI reads the expiry from the scan; you confirm it.
Records that stay
LiveEvery change to an item, an event or a defect is audited with a before/after diff. CRS documents, and anything linked to a flight, a defect or an event, cannot be deleted. That supports the record keeping ML.A.305 asks of the owner; it does not by itself make your records ML.A.305-compliant.
On the roadmap: the CAMO relationship
Coming soon- CAMO guest role and read-only share link. Your CAMO or shop sees the live record without a subscription.
- CAMO feed. A scheduled hours report, a defect report and a pilot-owner maintenance notice, the items Appendix I says you owe them.
- CAMO mirror. Forward your CAMO’s status report (PDF, Excel or email). The AI reads it and shows the diff against what ChockOps expects. This is the literal “even under a CAMO” feature.
- CAMO-approved AMP upload into an AI-generated task list.
On the roadmap: airworthiness
Coming soon- Airworthiness at a glance. One traffic-light card: ARC, next inspection, defects, ADs, life-limited parts.
- ARC timeline. ARC, insurance, radio licence, noise certificate, registration on one line.
- EASA and FAA AD/SB applicability engine. The EASA biweekly list and FAA ADs, an AI applicability draft per aircraft, a human confirms. An AD/SB compliance list as PDF and CSV.
- SB email ingest. Forward the Lycoming or Rotax notice to your aircraft’s inbox.
- Component and life-limited-part register with log cards, TSN/TSO/CSN, calendar life, and the Form 1 attached. ML.A.305 asks for a log card per life-limited part.
- Multiple cycle counters: starts, NG/NF or N1/N2, landings, hoist.
- 12-month forecast with cost and downtime.
- ARC-ready pack. The ML.A.903 checklist items as a PDF and a bundle, for your reviewer.
On the roadmap: doing the work
Coming soon- Owner-declared AMP builder from the EASA Form AMP and the MIP baseline, with a deviation register and an annual review. After legal review.
- Pilot-owner maintenance workflow. Appendix II task picker, CRS wording, signature, automatic notice to the CAMO within 30 days.
- Work package to the shop. Defects and due items become a quote request. The CRS and the invoice come back into the record.
- Planned vs performed vs invoiced, with an AI invoice check.
- ATA chapter tagging on defects, tasks and documents, so you and your mechanic speak the same language.
- Oil analysis and oil consumption trend. Oil added per flight is already in the techlog.
- Prebuy, resale and CAMO-change records pack.
