Helicopters
For the R44 in the syndicate and the H125 under a CAMO
Helicopter owners carry some of the largest hard-time costs in general aviation (on an R44 the overhaul reserve is close to half the published hourly operating cost) and often the least visibility. ChockOps is building the helicopter side on the same record the aeroplane side already runs on. Here is what is live today, and what is not yet.

Pilot logbook
Live- A helicopter view of your logbook, separate from aeroplane and FSTD.
- Every AMC1 FCL.050 field, plus the helicopter extras.
- Validity and recency for FCL.740.H type ratings across several types, LAPL(H) recency, IR(H) with FSTD credit, medical, language proficiency. Alerts at 90, 30, 7 and 0 days, and when recency is lost.
- Instructor countersignature by link or QR, no account needed.
Track import with helicopter leg detection
LiveUpload a GPX, KML or CSV track, or pull one from ADS-B. The helicopter rules apply: airborne above 15 kt instead of 40, rotor start five minutes before, shutdown two minutes after, and low hover stops counted as extra landings. The result is an estimated logbook draft, matched to existing entries so nothing doubles.
What is not yet built
Coming soon- Helicopter aircraft category on the aircraft record. Today the techlog is aeroplane-shaped.
- Helicopter techlog fields: rotor hours, engine hours, starts, NG/NF or N1/N2 cycles, torque events, hoist or sling cycles, autorotations for training currency.
- Multiple cycle counters per component. A turbine helicopter does not have one “landings” number.
- Robinson rule pack: the 12-year / 2,200-hour overhaul countdown as a first-class widget, component retirement times, whichever first.
- Turbine and HUMS-lite records: rotor track and balance log, vibration log, engine power check (EPC) margin trend.
- AI photo capture of the VEMD flight report (NG and NF cycles, flight time, over-limits), the Robinson EMU exceedances, the Cabri G2 flight log page. Display and evidence, with a human confirming.
- Garmin import with a helicopter channel map (G500H TXi, G1000H).
- Heliport and helipad lookup in the airport data.
- Helicopter maintenance templates from the AI programme generator.
A rule we will not break
Part-ML or Part-M?
An R22, an R44 at 1,134 kg or a Cabri G2 sits under Part-ML: rotorcraft up to 1,200 kg MTOM with at most four occupants. An H125 at 2,250 kg is Part-M and usually CAMO-managed. ChockOps is built for both: the Part-ML owner who may declare their own programme when no CAMO/CAO is contracted, and the Part-M owner whose record lives at the CAMO and who wants to see it.

Early-access helicopter owners shape the order we build in. If you have a VEMD flight report photo, an EMU download or a Cabri log page, send an anonymised copy.
