AI digitisation

No more paper. No AI acting alone.

Every piece of paper your aircraft produces has a place in ChockOps. Invoices, fuel receipts, CRSs and Form 1s, the ARC, insurance, the radio licence, ADs and SBs, the POH and AFM, logbook scans, the equipment list. The AI files it, reads it and proposes what to do. You say yes or no.

Three ways in

Live
  • Drop it or photograph it. PDF, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, CSV, XLSX, DOCX. Up to 50 MB per file. Duplicates are caught by content hash.
  • Forward it by email. Your shop emails the CRS; forward it to your aircraft. Attachments go through the same ingest. The AI summarises the email: intent, registration, suggested actions. Nothing happens automatically. In beta: today this runs on one shared mailbox; per-aircraft inbound addresses are designed. In beta
  • Bulk ingest. A folder of old scans, processed in one go. Today a command-line tool we run for you, not yet a button in the app.

Classification and extraction

Live

Each document lands in one of 13 categories: invoice · fuel receipt · maintenance report · CRS / EASA Form 1 · certificate (CofA, ARC, noise, registration) · insurance · radio licence · AD/SB · manual / POH / AFM · logbook scan · W&B / equipment list · photo · other.

The AI extracts the title, the date, the expiry, the issuer, the amount and currency, the registration, the TTAF and a summary. At high confidence the category and title are set automatically. Below that they become a reviewable suggestion. Full-text search covers everything, including OCR of scans.

Suggestions that act

Live

The AI does not just file. It proposes:

  • Link this fuel receipt to the flight on that date.
  • Create or update a maintenance item from this CRS or work report.
  • Link this photo to the open defect, or create a new one.
  • Set this certificate’s expiry.
  • Warning: this document names a different registration.

You accept or reject each one. Accepted suggestions are applied and audited.

A work report filed by AI as a maintenance report, with an AI suggestion to update the engine oil change item: performed 14 Oct 2026 at TTAF 318.2 h, confidence 91 %, with Reject and Accept buttons. Paper pilot logbook to rows

Live

Photograph the pages of your paper logbook. Per page the AI reads the EASA 12-column layout with a confidence per cell, checks the row totals and the page carry-forward (“this page / previous / total”), and crops the instructor’s signature into a transparent image. Rows arrive as drafts. Flight-school logbook exports (PDF or XLSX) go the same way, in chunks, with task numbers kept.

Licence, medical and certificates

Live

Scan your licence, ratings page, medical, language proficiency or radio licence. The AI extracts the credential and its expiry. From then on the validity engine watches it.

Techlog without paper

Live

One row per flight, carry-forward, validation, offline, and the paper-faithful PDF emailed on every closed flight.

On the roadmap

Coming soon
  • POH / AFM into structured data. Limitations, V-speeds, CG envelope, performance tables, checklists, supplements. Private to your aircraft; the manual’s copyright stays with the manufacturer.
  • Digital checklists from the POH, with per-flight completion.
  • W&B and performance saved per flight.
  • Aircraft, engine and propeller logbook pages into a maintenance history. Date, hours, work, CRS, AD references, with confidence and page citation. Reuses the pilot-logbook scan pipeline.
  • Old paper techlog backfill. Photograph years of sheets; get rows with arithmetic checks.
  • Techlog and display photo entry. Photograph the G1000 page after shutdown; get the counters.
  • “Ask your aircraft.” A question in plain language, an answer with page citations from your own documents.
  • AI defect triage. ATA chapter, deferral eligibility, a draft message to the mechanic.
  • Electronic Form 1 / 8130-3 import, attached to the component it released.
  • Data Matrix and QR scan of part labels into part number and serial.

How the AI is run

  • Vendor: Anthropic Claude. [PLACEHOLDER: data-processing terms and region]
  • Every AI result is a suggestion until a person confirms it.
  • Without an AI key, documents are stored and categorised by hand. Nothing breaks.
  • Your documents are used to answer your questions about your aircraft. [PLACEHOLDER: statement on model training, to be confirmed with the vendor terms]
